NGX Canadian Long Term Natural Gas Index(TM); is a commodity index based on forward natural gas prices on the AECO system in Alberta. The index is calculated using settlement prices for a 12 month strip comprised of two gas seasons (winter and summer). During the roll, which occurs twice per year in February and September, the index is rolled from the near season to the next season. For example, in September, Gas is rolled from the near winter season into the next winter season, and the same thing occurs with the summer in February. The initial benchmark value of the index was set at 1000 on May 10, 2010. The index is calculated on a daily basis as of 2:30PM ET (12:30PM MT).
